Chinese as a second language (CSL) class
After School CSL Class
Champion's Chinese as Second Language (CSL) program, has been operated for over 16 years, enjoying gaining popularity among American families in which the primary language spoken is not Mandarin. The CSL curriculum is carefully designed and frequently evaluated by experienced educators. With a concentration on Communication skills in Mandarin, Champion's unparalleled CSL class has developed a “studio-like” classroom setting and customizes the curriculum for both individuals and whole-class instruction to meet every needs of a multi-level/multi-age population.
We focus more on lessons than tests; emphasis on lifelong language learning than short-term goals; increased focus on language learning skills that are transferable to other languages rather than one specific language.
Leadership and Global Competence
Facts of this CSL population - the majority of the prior and current CSL students have been expected to be more aware and develop their multi-cultural ability and international-mindedness with Champion's CSL program being more competitive in this globalized world. The parents with these expectations chose us because we strive to provide opportunities for every student to lead the team in daily activities , promote effective communication and show them ways to build a relationship with peers and adults in a strong and safe community. We seek for overseas volunteering opportunities for young students.
CSL Class Best Features
Compared with Champion's Heritage Mandarin A/B Class, CSL Class students come from homes with less help in Mandarin Listening and Conversation practices or there is a rather sizable language proficiency gap between their heritage class counterpart. By means of Champion's digital courses and gamification practices, CSL students are highly motivated, learn at their own pace, and strengthen language skills at home.
Champion's CSL instructor implemented curriculum delivers knowledge in a creative way that enlightens and highly engages students; evaluates frequently to adjust teaching methods or teaching speed; utilizes bilingual teaching to deepen understanding of a new language system.
