Build Strong Skills & Confidence Through Creative Exploration
Designed for students in Rising Grades 6–8, this half-day program introduces young artists to essential art skills while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and confidence.
Through guided studio practice, students explore drawing, painting, and mixed media while developing observation skills and creative thinking.
This program builds a strong artistic foundation and prepares students for future portfolio-level work.


Students Will:
  • Build foundational skills in drawing, composition, and visual observation
  • Explore color, painting, and mixed media techniques
  • Develop creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills
  • Gain confidence in expressing ideas through art
  • Complete guided projects across a variety of themes

Program Outcomes
What Students Will Achieve:
  • Complete 1–2 projects per week across different media
  • Build a collection of 4–8 finished artworks depending on enrollment length
  • Develop stronger observation, technique, and creative confidence
  • Gain exposure to structured art learning in a supportive studio environment

Turn Your Creativity into a Strong Portfolio for Competitions & Top Art Schools
Designed for students in raising Grades 9–12, this program helps young artists build strong foundations and grow with intention.
Through structured studio practice, students develop technical skills, creativity, and original thinking.
Students begin their portfolio development while preparing for art competitions and future advanced study.

Students Will:
  • Build strong foundational skills in drawing, composition, and visual thinking
  • Explore a range of artistic approaches and media
  • Develop original ideas and creative problem-solving skills
  • Create competition-ready artworks for national-level submissions

Program Outcomes: 
What Students Will Achieve:
  • Students will complete 1 major project per week, with selected works further developed into competition-level pieces.
  • Build a strong body of 5–8 finished works depending on enrollment length
  • Students will produce multiple original works throughout the program, with selected pieces refined into high-quality, competition-ready artworks.
  • Develop artworks suitable for:
    • Scholastic Art Awards (Gold Key / National Medal)
    • Congressional Art Competition
    • Portfolio submission (RISD, Parsons, etc.)

Our Portfolio Development Pathway

A structured yet flexible process that focuses on both creative exploration and the development of a few outstanding portfolio-level works.

Recommended Enrollment
​Recommended Enrollment Duration:
  • 3 weeks → 3–5 portfolio-ready foundational works
  • 5 weeks → 4–6 competition-ready artworks
  • 7 weeks → 5–7 portfolio-level projects (ideal for students seeking advanced development)
Extended Studio Access (Exclusive Benefit)
Students will continue to receive ongoing studio access and mentorship even after the summer program, allowing them to:
  • Refine and elevate their artworks to competition level
  • Receive continued critique and guidance
  • Prepare for major competitions and portfolio submissions
Access continues through the fall competition season (until December)
Our goal is not just to create more artworks, but to develop a few outstanding pieces that truly stand out.

Q1: Who is this program for?
This program is designed for students in rising Grades 6–12 who are interested in developing strong artistic skills and building a high-quality portfolio for competitions, art school applications, or supplemental materials for top universities.

Q2: Does my child need prior art experience?
No prior experience is required for the Grades 6–8 Foundations program.
For the Grades 9–12 Portfolio Track, some basic drawing or art experience is recommended. We assess each student’s level and place them in the most suitable track.

Q3: How do I know which level is right for my child?
We are happy to guide you. After you contact us, we can review your child’s previous work (if available) and recommend the most appropriate program and duration.


Portfolio & Outcomes

Q4: What will students achieve in this program?
Students will develop strong technical skills, complete original artworks, and build a portfolio aligned with their goals—whether for competitions, art school applications, or academic enrichment.

Q5: How many artworks can students complete?
This depends on the number of weeks enrolled and the student’s pace.
In general, students can expect to complete several strong portfolio pieces, with selected works further refined to a high level.

Q6: Do you help with competitions or school applications?
Yes. We provide guidance for competitions such as the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, as well as portfolio preparation for art schools and selective programs (e.g., Governor’s School).

The program runs from June through August, with flexible weekly enrollment options.

Q8: How many weeks should my child enroll?
We typically recommend:
• Grades 6–8: 3–5 weeks
• Grades 9–10: 4–6 weeks
• Grades 11–12: 5–7+ weeks (for portfolio development)
Longer enrollment allows for deeper skill development and stronger portfolio results.

Q9: Can students join for just one week?
Yes, one-week enrollment is available. However, for meaningful progress and stronger outcomes, we recommend enrolling for multiple weeks.

We offer small group instruction to ensure each student receives personalized guidance and support.

Q11: How is the program structured?
Each student follows a structured yet personalized plan, combining skill-building exercises, guided projects, and independent creative development.
