It is time to build your art foundation in this intensive Teens Art class. The Teens Art program is targeted towards students aged 11-17. Students experience a variety of artistic ideas, skills, techniques, and forms of self-expression. Teens Art students will learn about a wide range of art mediums and use the art criticism process to evaluate classic and modern art from around the world.

●​  ​Teens Art Foundation

Teens Art Foundation (Grades 5–6)
Teens Art Foundation is designed for upper elementary students who are ready to strengthen their artistic foundations and move toward more intentional and refined art making. The course focuses on developing essential art skills while encouraging students to experiment with traditional media and thoughtful, creative approaches.
Students are introduced to art history and influential artists in an age-appropriate and engaging way. Through guided observation and discussion, they learn how artists from different times and cultures used materials, techniques, and ideas to express meaning. Students analyze artworks using clear criteria and apply what they learn from artists and art history to their own creative projects.
Through structured practice and creative exploration, students learn to translate imagination into well-developed artworks, building technical confidence, artistic thinking, and visual literacy in preparation for the next level of art refinement.​

Teen Arts Intermediate (Grades 6–7)
  • Teen Arts Intermediate is designed for middle school students who are ready to strengthen technical skills and deepen their understanding of visual art. The course focuses on developing drawing, acrylic painting, and introductory 3D sculpture techniques while encouraging thoughtful and creative approaches to traditional art media.
  • Students build a strong foundation in the elements of art and principles of design, learning to analyze, interpret, and evaluate artworks using clear criteria. Through guided practice, artist study, and hands-on projects, students learn to transform imagination into well-developed artworks, strengthening technical control, visual reasoning, and artistic confidence in preparation for more advanced art study.

Teen Arts Advanced (Grades 8–10)
  • Teen Arts Advanced is designed for students who are ready to deepen their artistic practice and refine both technical skills and creative thinking. The course encourages students to explore advanced approaches to traditional and mixed media while developing a personal artistic voice.
  • Students strengthen their understanding of the elements of art and principles of design through complex, concept-driven projects. They learn to critically analyze and evaluate artworks using established criteria, study influential artists, and apply advanced techniques in drawing and acrylic painting. Through experimentation, reflection, and guided critique, students transform imagination into well-developed artworks, preparing for advanced-level art study and portfolio development.

Writing, Illustrating & Publishing
  • Have an amazing story idea bouncing around in your head? Ready to see your characters come to life on the page? In this hands-on workshop, young authors and artists will transform creative sparks into fully finished, published works.
  • ​Designed for students in Grade 5 and up, this course bridges the gap between creative writing and visual storytelling. Whether you love writing fantasy epics, graphic novels, poetry collections, or illustrated short stories, you’ll learn the end-to-end process of authoring a book.
